Travel Grants
Financial Assistance to Young Scientists from Low and Middle Income Countries
To encourage young scientists to participate in this conference, the organizers have established a travel assistance program. The program is offered to young scientists resident in lower and middle income countries as defined by the World Bank.
For this program, a limited number of awards will be made available to qualified candidates as partial travel support to attend the Conference. There will be 75 travel grants of $1,000.00 CAD each. Awards will be granted based on financial need and scientific merit of submitted abstracts.

Eligibility:
- Employment at a university or other non-profit organization or enrolment in a graduate training program or postdoctoral fellowship.
- Permanent residence and place of employment or training in an economically disadvantaged country.
- Scientific degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., D.V.M., M.Sc., or equivalent) or enrolment in a graduate training program.
- Research interest in clinical pharmacology as documented by applicant’s c.v.
- First and presenting author of an abstract submitted to the Conference.
- Candidates must be within the first five years following completion of their scientific degree.
Documents Required:
1. Abstract
2. A brief curriculum vitae, including education and publication list
3. A letter of support from the supervisor, the appropriate Department Head or Dean, indicating that the candidate is effectively enrolled or employed in the institution
4. List of other sources of financial support available to candidate
5. A brief statement outlining the scientific importance of the research or methods used (limit one page)
Requests for financial assistance must be completed using the online abstract submission. Accompanying documents must be emailed to cpt2008support@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca,
by February 18, 2008.
Terms:
1. All awardees shall receive the payment upon arrival at the Québec City Convention Centre.
2.
The award shall consist of a maximum value of $1,000.00 CAD and shall include:
a. Payment of the registration fee.
b. Funds to partly cover travel expenses.
3. All applicants will be notified of the results by March 15, 2008.
Only candidates who have submitted an abstract for a poster presentation at the Conference are eligible for this program.
All non-successful applicants with an accepted abstract and who wish to have their abstract part of the CPT 2008 Program must register by April 30, 2008 and must submit payment at this time.

- Ability to meet other expenses to attend CPT 2008
